Massage FAQ's!

Several ladies have asked me some common questions about massage. Thought I would post them for anyone else who might have questions.

1) What does a full-body massage include?
>In a full body massage, a therapist will massage your back, shoulders, head, neck, and face, arms, hands, legs front and back, feet, and the glutes(bottom). However, you are the client! Before your massage you will fill out a client intake form. It's just a form to give me some knowledge about your medical history, and also has a place to let me know if there are any areas that you do not want massaged. (Some people prefer not to have their butt touched.) If you have never had a massage before, I recommend trying the full body at least once. After that, if you prefer to focus on specific areas you can choose to do that. I've had some clients who like to spend the entire hour on the back. For others, such as athletes and runners, it may be perfered to focus mainly on the legs. Just remember that you are the client and I will cater to your needs and requests.

2) Do I have to be completely nude?
>No. you do not. Most of my clients choose to keep their underwear on. Ladies, it is necessary to remove your bra to massage the back. However, if you are comfortable with being completely nude, that is fine. It is easier to massage the upper thigh, hip area, and the glutes if you are nude, or for the ladies, if you at least wear a thong or high cut panties. The main thing to think about is that you will be covered with a sheet the entire time. I practice what is called conservative draping, which means that your entire body is covered with a sheet, and only the body part that is being massaged is exposed. The way the sheet is moved around is done so as to never expose any of your private areas. I have had one or two clients in the past who were very modest and chose to wear little shorts or boxers during the massage. Whatever makes your comfortable is fine.

3) What can I expect when you come to my home?
>One of the great benefits of out-calls is being able to get a professional quality massage in the comfort of your own home. When I arrive, you will show me where you want me to set up. If there are other people in your home, it is best to set up in a private room. This is only so your massage will be quiet and relaxing and uninterrupted. If no one is home or you live alone, anywhere would be fine. Please keep in mind that I need enough space to set up the massage table and to be able to move around it. An area that is 10 x 10 is sufficient. However, I have worked in smaller spaces before. I will set up while you fill out a client intake form to let me know about yourself and some information about your medical history. You will undress in a bathroom or another room and wrap in the sheet. I will then instruct you as to how you get on the table and lay down. You will be covered with the sheet the entire time. When you massage is over, I will step out of the room to let you get dressed, or show you how to wrap in the sheet to get off of the table to get dressed in the bathroom. Then I will pack up and go! The great thing is that you don't have to drive home or anything after!

4) How can I pay for my massage and when do I pay for it?
> You will pay me after your massage is over. I accept cash or personal checks. Some people give a tip and some do not. That is totally up to you. You will get a receipt. If you buy a Body Pack (set of 4 massages for a lower price) then you will pay for all of them after the first massage and you will receive a card that I will punch each time you have a massage. So the following 3 massages, you won't have to pay anything. I do have a special of the month posted each month. Check it out for good discounts!

That compares to the regular price of $40. When you have your first massage I will give you a Body Pack card the will be punched each time you get a massage. :)

You can pay a set price based on time and the massage will be free to your guests OR I will come and set up at no cost to you and your guests can pay by the minute for a massage if they want one. As of right now, it looks like I will be able to start booking appointments in October. My license should be in by then. Here's how you can book an appointment with me...

Saturdays

10:00am, 2:00pm, 4:00pm, or 6:30pm

Sundays

Only evening appointments are available on Sundays
5:00pm or 8:00pm

*Note- I am willing to schedule early morning appointments on Saturdays, or late night appointments on Saturdays or Sundays, for those of you with busy schedules. Just let me know what time you would prefer and I will see what I can do!

Hello Everyone!

For those of you who don't know, last Friday I passed the Texas state exam for massage therapy. I will be starting my business as soon as my license comes in! I hope to start scheduling appointments mid-September. This blog is where I will be posting all of the info for my business until I can get a webpage up and running.
